Katkatha Puppets
Katkatha is a puppet theatre company founded in 1997 byAnurupa Roy with help from fellow artists and friends. At its core it believes in using puppets for social communication and behavioral change especially in the field of gender, HIV/AIDS, conflict resolution and environment.
Synopsis of the performance
This is an excerpt of "Virus kaTamasha" a puppet play created in 2003. The play is divided into sections. The first three sections deal with the modes of HIV transmission. The last section which has become a very popular stand alone show is the solliloquy of a person living with HIV.He is nameless and faceless, he could be anybody who suffers the stigma of bring HIV positive and is discriminated against.
The cast for the performance at EE5 includes Anand, Umesh and Anurupa.
